Beds & Borders Landscape Design, Inc. begins the design process by determining your goals, tastes and preferences. We then move outside where we take site measurements, a soil analysis, and notations of all existing features. We will evaluate all aspects of the landscape including microclimates (where hot, cold, wet and dry climates exist). This will allow us to choose the exact plant material suitable for that particular area. Additionally, circulation patterns are recognized, while drainage and easements are taken into consideration. Equally important are views from and inside the house. By using the sight-lines from inside the house we will be able to focus on the most intriguing and beautiful characteristics important to the property. Synthesizing all the information we gather from the site analysis enables us to form the backbone of your new landscape design.
